Bedtime Routine

Experts say that knowing what is coming next helps to relax babies, so establishing a regular daily bedtime routine is a great way to make sure your baby is calm and relaxed about the processes of sleeping. The more relaxed your baby is, the more likely it is that he or she will go to bed easily and fall asleep quickly.

You can begin to follow a set nightly pattern when your baby is as young as six or eight weeks old. Sooner than you realize, your baby will adapt and come to appreciate and depend upon this consistency and predictability.

The standard routine of bathing, putting on pajamas, reading a story, having a cuddle or playing a quiet game is popular, but you can include anything in your routine as long as it is something that helps to calm the baby. Ideally, the routine should end in the baby’s bedroom, trying to establish the idea of the bedroom as a pleasant place to be, not just somewhere the baby is left at nighttime.

By making bedtime an enjoyable event, your baby will learn to love the process and therefore sleep more easily.

By selecting baby bedding products your baby loves will make your baby less resistant to the process and increase your chances of success.
